Chapter 17

Maia came back to reality slowly. Calen was pressed against her, a heavy weight on her body that she welcomed this time. He’d collapsed after giving a loud shout and rocking into her hard one last time. She had wanted to shout, too, but when her first real orgasm rocked her body, she’d been unable to do more than hold onto to him and gasp.

Calen’s was still big in her, but she could feel him starting to soften.

There is a man inside me.

This was crazy. The sensation of being filled was so strange and alien. Paradoxically, she wanted to clamp down, to hold him inside her as tightly as possible, even though it had hurt in the beginning. She felt a tight, ticklish sensation deep where they were joined and a part of her wanted to rub and twist all over him again.

Eventually, Calen’s breathing calmed, and he turned his head to the side to look down at her face. He kissed her softly. “Are you okay, nymph? I know it hurt at first. I’m sorry. It won’t as much next time,” he promised.

“It’s not bad. Just a little burn,” she told him. He nodded and slowly slid out of her.

Maia let out another little gasp. Even soft, he filled her well, and the sensation of him moving out of her body was startling. Calen moved away from her and she looked back down at her naked body. Silently cataloging the minute differences, she sat up.

She was overly conscious of her soreness. It almost felt as if he was still inside her. Or a ghost of him. Flexing experimentally, she flushed as she realized part of him was still inside her.

Wait...Calen hadn’t used any protection.

Did he think she was on the pill? No. He knew she wasn’t. Was she supposed to have asked him to use something? Or was he already on the baby train?

Maia froze.

Of course he is, you idiot.

Maia’s silence made him feel terrible. She was looking down at herself, an almost forlorn expression on her face.

Shit. She’d seen the blood. There was more than he’d thought there would be. It must have looked scary to her. Parts of it were pink where it mixed with his semen. Calen stood up to get a warm moist towel. He rushed back and started to clean her up.

“Let me do that,” Maia said, embarrassed.

She took the towel from him and wiped away their fluids, wincing slightly when she touched a tender spot. Calen sat on the floor with his back to the front of the couch. He watched silently until she was done.

“Come here, baby,” he gestured, one arm extended so he could put it around her.

Maia crawled next to him but sat a little farther away, outside of his embrace. She breathed in deeply and stared at the fire instead of looking at him.

“What’s wrong?” he asked. Her lips parted, but she didn’t answer, and he started to mentally swear. “I know it may have been rough. I meant to be gentle, but you’re so small.
